What would you do if you were to die tomorrow?

What would you want to do if we are to die tomorrow? This is probably the first line in blogs that talk of travel and bucket lists.

Films like YJHD and ZNMD have increased the youngsters’ expectation with life and travel. It was so refreshing to see those films and rightly so. They spoke on lot of common issues we face. But the thing that inspired many of my friends was the travel part.

Suddenly they wanted to take a road trip like in the movie. My friend also created a bucket list with the places she wanted to visit. The activities she wanted to do there. I found it fascinating a few years ago. Now when I look at it I feel that we had missed a big part in that movie. The three friends in ZNMD were well settled professionally and had enough money for the road trip.

I feel that we should have made a career bucket list first. And those men were messed up in their lives and needed a vacation to sort their shit. Something I wouldn’t want to happen with my friends. The whole idea seemed glossy and perfect back then. Now it seems silly.

The idea of bucket list is fantastic. But not many people understand the idea behind it. If I were to die tomorrow I wouldn’t want to travel all over the world.

I would want to spend the remaining hours with my loved ones instead of trying an extreme sport. Travel is fun but not when you do it continuously. Deep down all everyone want is to feel a part of something.

Not everyone would have a great start in their careers. It takes time to settle professionally. So it would take longer to fulfill bucket lists. Down the lane we would regret on not ticking things off the bucket list. So instead of that we can chuck this whole idea of bucket lists.

We can focus on things that can make us happy where we are. Simpler things until we have the right time to do filmy bucket list kind of things.

Something like learning a new language, writing diaries, recording our favorite songs in our own voice, playing pranks with our friends, surprising our parents with thoughtful gifts, walk in the beach on a full night, horse-riding, playing chess with our grand -parents, get together with our cousins and more things like this.

Few years from now we may be living in different cities or countries. Then we would' t spend time like this. Our bucket list would seem meaningless. Imagine seeing pictures hanging on your walls. The one with our loved ones would seem more appealing and bring back more memories than a manali trek.

There is nothing wrong with great ideas for bucket list, but by the time you aren’t able to do that try these simpler yet meaningful things in life.
