Android Wear 2.0 update is delayed: Here's when you can expect it to arrive
Android Wear users had it pretty rough over the past few weeks as they are facing compatibility issues, with those using an iPhone 7.
Well, it also turns out that Google has officially confirmed the next Android Wear release has been pushed back.
The updated software, which was first touched upon at Google's conference in month of June 2016, is currently going through developer betas before being allowed onto the wrists of consumers.
In a blog post, the Google search engine giant announced it has decided to extend the programme into early 2017, at which Android Wear 2.0 will begin rolling out onto devices.
Google is continuing to add nifty features to the upcoming system, with Android Wear 2.0 set to finally receive Play Store support.
This does not only means that users will be able to browse apps directly from their wrist, but also that these new apps can work as a standalone from a linked phone.
Google describe the implementation, by saying that, With Play Store for Android Wear, users can browse apps in the home view and search for apps using voice, keyboard, handwriting, and recommended apps, so they can find apps more easily.
If users want an app only on their watch but not on their phone, then they can also install only the watch app version. In fact, in Android Wear 2.0, phone apps are no longer necessary to install. Developer's can now build and publish watch-only apps for users to discover on Google Play.
